Nikol Pashinyan's Interview with Gulf News

The government of Armenia has made significant progress in the fight against corruption, and the country is in a much better position for trade and economic cooperation. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in an interview with the Gulf News of the United Arab Emirates.

“Our revolution was born out of a public demand shaped by expectations of democratic transformations. It was exclusively an internal phenomenon and did not have geopolitical repercussions. However, I do not mean to say that democracy has had no impact on our foreign policy; there is no doubt that it has strengthened Armenia's position in the international arena and enriched our foreign policy with important values, principles, and interests,” said the Prime Minister, according to Armenpress.

According to him, the revolution was carried out by the people of Armenia as an expression of their will to reject corruption, abuse of powers, economic and political monopolies, electoral fraud, and political manipulation. Thus, from the very first day of its tenure, Armenia's new government embarked on implementing deep reforms to address the issues that had brought our people to the streets and triggered mass protests in Armenia.

As a result, today Armenia is in a much better condition for trade and economic cooperation, as our government has made significant strides in combating corruption, as well as in strengthening the rule of law and creating favorable conditions for business and attracting foreign investment. “I am confident that the reform agenda shaped by the revolution will provide new perspectives and opportunities for cooperation with our partners, including the countries of our region,” emphasized Nikol Pashinyan.
