Victor Mnatsakanyan Resigns from His Position as Head of Yerevan's Kentron Administrative District
Victor Mnatsakanyan, the head of Yerevan's Kentron administrative district, has submitted his resignation, as he announced on his Facebook page.
“Dear compatriots, beloved residents of Kentron: It has been a year since I took on the position of head of the Kentron administrative district. I assumed this role at the invitation of my friend Haik Marutyan, with the noble desire to develop our beloved Yerevan through united teamwork. One year was not a long time to achieve all our goals, but it was sufficient to understand the specifics of Kentron and develop the right strategies for addressing its unique challenges. Throughout the past year, the work done with my team took these particularities into account,” he wrote.
“Now, I want to announce that I have submitted a request for dismissal from my position. I made this decision because I want to engage in a deep examination of urban issues and make urbanism an integral part of our daily lives. I am convinced that in this way, I will be able to serve my beloved city and country much more effectively. This step does not mean that I am leaving the team I have been a part of and had the honor to work with. My decision to resign has no political motives and is purely personal. I urge no one to exploit it for political purposes or weave conspiracy theories around it,” Mnatsakanyan continued.
He also expressed his gratitude to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for the sustainable vision for the country’s development and for his trust, reaffirming his support for the political course he has adopted. Mnatsakanyan thanked Yerevan Mayor Haik Marutyan for his trust and one year of collaboration, as well as Chief Architect Arthur Meshchyan and his fellow council members for their unity and teamwork in advancing a new approach to urban governance. He acknowledged the commitment and readiness of his well-motivated teammates who supported his year-long efforts and expressed appreciation for the caring residents of Kentron for their collaboration and belief in their strengths.
