Explosion in Tbilisi Residential Building Today, Casualties Reported

An explosion has rocked the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, but there are no reported injuries among Armenians. This information has been confirmed by the Armenian Embassy in Georgia.

“We inform you that among the injured from the powerful explosion that occurred in one of the residential buildings on Guramishvili Avenue in Tbilisi, there are no citizens of the Republic of Armenia or ethnic Armenians,” the embassy stated.

According to the Emergency Management Service, four people were injured as a result of the explosion. The initial hypothesis suggests that the explosion was caused by a homemade installation of a water heater powered by natural gas,” the message states.

According to Sputnik Georgia, the explosion occurred today at 8:15 AM. The incident took place on the fourth floor of a 16-story building near the “Gromagele” metro station. Several windows of nearby buildings were shattered, and vehicles in the area were also damaged. Residents were evacuated. Residents of adjacent buildings reported that the explosion was so powerful that it felt as if the entire neighborhood had lifted into the air.
