Peskov Comments on News About Putin's Potential Successors

The Kremlin is not currently considering a successor to Russian President Vladimir Putin, as elections are still a long way off, said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, to reporters on Thursday.

"You are absolutely right to say that the presidential elections are still far off. We are in the initial phase of the presidential cycle. Therefore, no one is thinking about this now; everyone is busy with intense work, as you can witness," Peskov said in response to a question about how many potential successors Putin might have, considering that there is still plenty of time before the end of the president’s term.
