Prohibited Food Found in Three Yerevan Schools: Pizza and Hot Dog
Inspectors from the Food Safety Inspectorate of Armenia have conducted control measures in the public catering points operating in Yerevan's number 129 (named after Haik Bzhshkyants), number 77 (named after Ruben Miroyan), and number 82 (named after Hovhannes Poghosyan) primary schools.
The Food Safety Inspectorate reports that during the inspections, cream-based confectionery with inadequate labeling was found in the buffets of schools number 129 and 77 (operated by 'Tasty Snack' LLC and individual entrepreneur Khoren Hovhannisyan, respectively), which is prohibited from being sold on school premises. In the buffet of school number 82 (operated by individual entrepreneur Sarik Antonyan), not only inadequately labeled and cream-based confectionery was discovered, but also pizza and hot dogs that violated storage conditions. The sale of all these food items on school grounds is banned according to the order number 32N of the Minister of Health of Armenia from 2014.
Additionally, the catering point at this school was operating with serious sanitary-hygienic violations, lacking refrigeration facilities. Orders to suspend the sale of these products have been issued in all schools, with set deadlines.
The process is ongoing, and control measures will be carried out in schools across all regions of the republic and in Yerevan.
