National Security Service Discovery: ‘Eurostan Uyut’ Caused 550 Million Dram Loss to the State

According to Shamshyan.com, the Investigative Department of the National Security Service of Armenia has initiated a criminal case based on the features of Article 308, Part 3 and Article 314, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

As photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports, this criminal case was initiated due to the discovery of particularly large-scale abuses regarding the land allocated to ‘Eurostan Uyut’ LLC, located in the Lovers’ Park of Yerevan. It has been revealed that a significant portion of the Lovers’ Park was illegally transferred to ‘Eurostan Uyut’ LLC based on a document that does not correspond to reality, allegedly by former officials of the Yerevan city hall, resulting in a loss of approximately 550 million drams to the state.

In 2003, through a decision by the Mayor of Yerevan, a 150-square-meter land plot, which includes a 96-square-meter building owned by the LLC, was leased for 25 years for the purpose of reconstructing a children's recreation center. Additionally, a 900-square-meter additional land plot was allocated for the same purpose, and another 536-square-meter land plot was designated for use as a green area, all of which constituted part of the mentioned park.
