VIDEO: State Suffered Significant Damage Due to Apparent Unprofitable Transaction

The main department for combating corruption and economic crimes at the Police of Armenia has prepared material regarding violations committed by officials of the state cadastre committee. It was found that these officials, driven by personal interest, misused their official positions to act against the interests of service and failed to fulfill their official duties.

This information has been confirmed by the Police. According to currently available data, instead of conducting systematic surveys on the property cadastral assessment for apartments in multi-apartment residential buildings and land prices, as well as the average market rental rates for public property, the relevant officials undertook and implemented a procurement process for these works.

A contract worth 38,720,000 AMD was signed with the winning company on March 6, 2018. Within the framework of this contract, from March 6 to June 22, the company merely conducted analyses based on the information provided by the client and presented handover-acceptance acts for the performance of the work, based on which 15,488,000 AMD was disbursed to the company.

As of now, due to the apparent unprofitability of the transaction, the contract was terminated on June 25, 2018. As a result, the state suffered especially large material damage and severe consequences ensued.
