Cavusoglu Sets a Deadline for Kurds to Leave Northern Syria

Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu announced today that if Kurdish forces do not leave northern Syria within the specified time frame, military operations against them will resume. He stated that the Kurds have approximately 30 hours left.

This pertains to the expiration of the ceasefire deadline. Under an agreement between the United States and Turkey, the Turkish military had paused its operations for 120 hours to allow Kurdish forces to withdraw from the area. It is assumed that once they leave, there will be no further need for military action.

Cavusoglu emphasized that they hold no animosity against the Kurds as an ethnic group but insist that the militants must vacate the territory. He noted that since the beginning of the Turkish military operations, 360,000 Syrian refugees have already returned to Syrian territory.
