Finland vs Armenia: 3-0

In the 8th round of Group J qualifying for the 2020 European Championship, the Armenian national team visited Finland. The match took place at the 'Veritas' stadium in Turku.

According to 'Armenpress', both teams were very active in their attacks right from the start, with Finland enjoying more possession statistically. In the first 10 minutes, the Armenian team earned two dangerous free kicks but failed to convert them into goals. In the 23rd minute, Rumián Hovsepyan’s shot was deflected by the opposing goalkeeper.

In the 31st minute, following a corner kick, Jenssen seized on a mistake by Armenia’s goalkeeper Aram Hayrapetyan to score, making it 1-0.

In the second half’s opening, the Armenian team showed more activity, but the players struggled to deliver the final, crucial shot. In the 61st minute, Finnish players broke through Armenia’s defense and Pukki scored the second goal for the hosts, bringing the score to 2-0.

Near the end of the match, the same Pukki scored again, completing his double and securing Finland’s 3rd goal. Thus, the final score was Finland 3, Armenia 0.

The next match for Armen Gyulbudaghyan’s team will be against the Greek national team on November 15 in Yerevan. Following that, on November 18, they will face the Italian national team in Palermo in the final match of the qualifying round.
