Naghdalyan Comments on the Prohibition of Armenian Journalists' Entry to Georgia
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia is aware of the prohibition of Armenian journalists' entry into the territory of Georgia. In a briefing with journalists, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Anna Naghdalyan, provided details about the incidents of barring reporters from entering Georgia.
“We are aware of the issue. Our embassy in Georgia has immediately contacted our Georgian colleagues. Our positions regarding the matter have been communicated to the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We expect clarifications from the Georgian side on this matter. Once that happens, our embassy in Georgia will issue an appropriate statement,” Naghdalyan said.
Earlier, media outlets reported that on October 11, after being held for more than 4 hours at the Georgian-Armenian border checkpoint 'Ninotsminda-Bavra', journalists from Epress.am were prohibited from entering Georgia.
