We Do Not Have Hostile Entrepreneurs, There Is No Division Between Opposition and Pro-Government Businessmen in Armenia: Prime Minister

This year, we will apparently have an economic growth rate of around seven percent, which is a very important and high indicator compared to EAEU and European countries. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during his speech at the investment conference titled 'My Step for Aragatsotn Province' taking place at the 'Armenia Vine' winery in the Sasunik community of Aragatsotn province.

'It is clear that our base is very low, and a seven percent growth is not a figure that should make us feel very happy,' he said.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of cooperation between the Government and business circles, noting that all opportunities have been created for this. 'Today, there is no division between opposition and pro-government businessmen in the Republic of Armenia. We do not have any enemies among entrepreneurs; we consider all businesspeople to be our number one allies because economic revolution is impossible without cooperating with entrepreneurs, and our greatest challenge is that every entrepreneur in Armenia feels protected,' he said.

In his remarks, Nikol Pashinyan highlighted the importance of individual effort, which should lead to the economic revolution, adding that the way to overcome poverty is to encourage citizens to create businesses and stand on their own feet. 'The model of charity that has been applied in Armenia for many years has degraded our economic relationships and has often not helped, but rather hindered people,' he said, noting that every citizen of Armenia must recognize that their bread must be earned through their own sweat, and that is the meaning of the revolution.

'The economic revolution in the Republic of Armenia has already started, and I want to emphasize that economic revolution, like everything related to civilization, first occurs in people's minds,' he said.

The Prime Minister noted that today the competition for talent is the number one economic factor. 'First, we need to change ourselves, our environment, and change our homeland, which should become the country of all our universal dreams, not just a dream of one political team, not just of an individual, but we must pour our dreams into a pot, and that pot must boil and take shape with our national dream. The economic revolution is about realizing our national dreams because to fulfill our dreams, we must have a strong state, and before that, we must have a strong economy,' he concluded.
