Moscow Eases Process for Obtaining Russian Citizenship

The process for foreign citizens residing in Russia to obtain Russian citizenship is being accelerated. This decision has been made by the country's government and sent to parliament for approval.

According to the new regulations, if individuals from the aforementioned group wish to obtain Russian citizenship while residing in Russia, their applications must be reviewed within 3 months. Currently, the existing regulation stipulates a 6-month period for such reviews.
