Several Streets Will Be Closed on October 13 Due to the 'Yerevan Marathon'
The competition is open to individuals with disabilities as well, with a 1 km running path. All participants will receive a medal upon completion of the race. In addition to individual awards, five team prizes have been established. Discounts are available for organizational and school team registrations. A free training club has been created.
The running route is certified by the International Association of Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and has received international status. Due to the marathon, traffic will be temporarily halted in certain areas of the capital on the same day from 07:00 to 14:30.
Particularly, the following areas will be closed to vehicles from 07:00: Republic Square and St. Shahumyan Square, Vazgen Sargsyan Street; and from 07:45, Khorenatsi, Nalbandyan, Vardanants, Alek Manukyan, Isahakyan, Tamanyan, Moskovyan, Saryan, Leo, and Proshyan Streets. The section from the Hrazdan Gorge to the Davtashen Bridge will also be closed from the same time. Victory Bridge, Athens Street, and the Mashtots Boulevard – Gr. Lusavorich intersection will be closed, as will Argishti, Beirut, V. Sargsyan Streets, the area from Abovyan Street to Pushkin Street up to Sakharov Square, and from Sakharov Square to Nalbandyan Street up to Republic Square.
