International Mental Mathematics Olympiad Held in Armenia with Participation of 512 Children
The first International Mental Mathematics Olympiad is being held in Armenia. The participants are children aged 4 to 14 from Armenia, Russia, and Kazakhstan. The Olympiad is organized by the IQ Center.
“The children will have 2 phases, with 2 types of calculations: mental calculations and abacus calculations. In the end, all scores will be tallied, and our top students will receive surprises. From November 1-4, IQ Center students will travel to Sochi to participate in 2 international competitions. Our main prizes are those trips. We will sponsor 6 children, and together, with a group of 16, we will go to Sochi to bring prizes back to Armenia. This is not the first time Armenia returns home with a lot of awards,” said Julia Gasparyan, founder and director of the IQ Center.
She also noted that the Olympiad concludes today. In the next 2 days, an international retraining for the Center’s specialists will take place. “One of the well-known and reputable teachers of mental mathematics is here, having arrived at our invitation. He will conduct retraining for IQ Center specialists according to international standards,” Gasparyan added.
In total, 512 children have participated in the Olympiad.
