During one of the government meetings, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan issued a strong directive to former Chief of Police, Major General Valery Osipyan, and Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan, to ensure that vandalism against nature is completely eliminated in the republic.

As reported by Shamshyan.com, on October 11, an unknown group executed a massacre of trees at the intersection of Freedom Avenue and Nairi Zaryan Street. The destruction of the trees occurred in broad daylight. More than 30 thick trees were cut down within a few hours.

Citizens, witnessing the events, expressed their outrage, saying, “Where is our so-called decent mayor? Yesterday marked one year since he took office, yet he should not tolerate such inhumane treatment towards nature, especially in broad daylight. The city hall and the district administration must be strict and diligent in identifying those who committed this act against nature, serving as a lesson for others. These were trees around 30 years old, which were providing us with oxygen.”
