His Holiness Garegin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, to Visit Switzerland

On October 11, His Holiness Garegin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, will embark on a two-day pontifical visit to Geneva, Switzerland.

At the invitation of Thomas Heiniger, President of the Swiss Red Cross, and Matteo Pedrazini, President of the Geneva Red Cross, the Catholicos will participate in the Swiss Red Cross's event for 2019, which this year will be held under the motto “Brighten the Lives of Our Seniors.” The funds raised will also be directed to the care and support of needy seniors and persons with disabilities in Armenia.

His Holiness will also preside over the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Armenian St. Jacob Church in Geneva.

During the visit, the Catholicos will be accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Kharjak Parsamyan, the Papal Legate to Western Europe, the Reverend Father Shahe Ananyan, Head of the Inter-Church Relations Department of the Mother See, and the Honorable Father Vahram Melikyan, Director of the Information System.
