Criminal Case Launched at Central Police Department Following Incident Near 'Hayeli' Press Club: Gor Abrahamyan

At the direction of the Yerevan City Prosecutor, a criminal case has been initiated at the Central Police Department following an incident near the 'Hayeli' press club, under the characteristics of Part 1 of Article 164 of the RA Criminal Code. This was reported by Gor Abrahamyan, an advisor to the RA Chief Prosecutor on media affairs.

Article 164 of the RA Criminal Code stipulates the obstruction of a journalist's legal professional activities.

It is worth noting that yesterday, four young individuals besieged the 'Hayeli' press club. They threw eggs at the club's doors and posted banners. One of them, who identified himself as citizen David Hovhannisyan, stated that they demand the closure of the media outlet.

They indicated that the reason for their action was an article titled 'Aliyev's Delayed but Forceful Response to Pashinyan' published on Hayeli.am. According to participants of the action, they were prepared to do the same thing inside the club had the door been open.
