Who Are the Authors of the Profane 'Invalid' Ballots?

Who Are the Authors of the Profane 'Invalid' Ballots?

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that the draft regarding the termination of the powers of Constitutional Court President Hrayr Tovmasyan was approved yesterday with 98 votes in favor, 1 against, and 2 abstentions during a closed secret ballot and will be sent to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia. However, the results of the vote paint an interesting picture.

While the "against" and "in favor" votes are understandable as they express specific stances of the MPs, it remains unclear what happened with the ballots that were recognized as 'invalid.' According to sources from the parliamentary inquiry commission, the newspaper learned that instead of a proper voting mark, two MPs wrote profane remarks, apparently directed at Hrayr Tovmasyan.

This incident is notable because the vote was a matter of life and death for the political majority. Everything was done to ensure that even MPs from Europe would come and attend so that the parliament could hand over a vote of no confidence to the President of the Constitutional Court.

And yet, there are 2 elected officials who are undermining their votes. The parliamentary inquiry commission members are nearly convinced that the authors of the two 'invalid' ballots were MPs from the "My Step" faction, reacting angrily to the situation. For more details, see today’s issue of the newspaper.
