Fatalities Reported Following Emergency Landing of Aircraft in Ukraine
An AN-12 cargo aircraft has made an emergency landing at the airport in Lviv, Ukraine. The hard landing has resulted in fatalities. The aircraft was en route from Vigo, Spain to Lviv.
“According to preliminary information, there are casualties. The emergency landing was due to fuel exhaustion. An investigation has been launched,” stated Ukraine's Minister of Infrastructure Vladislav Krikliy.
Later reports indicated that there were 8 people on board the aircraft. 5 have died, while 2 have been rescued from the wreckage, and efforts are ongoing to extract a third survivor.
