Revealed Case of Organizing Intentional Car Accidents and Fraudulently Embezzling Money
The National Security Service of the Republic has uncovered cases of intentionally damaging someone else's property in a particularly large amount and embezzling money through fraud as part of its operational-investigative activities aimed at combating crime.
According to preliminary data, from October 2018 to September 2019, a citizen of the Republic targeted female drivers with luxurious vehicles bearing 'golden' license plates, intentionally colliding with various cars using his damaged vehicles, namely 'Daewoo Nexia' and 'VAZ 21-154', creating accident situations that allowed him to place blame on the victims. He fraudulently demanded and received approximately 600,000 AMD, causing a total damage of 4,697,000 AMD. In some cases, he also received fraudulently obtained compensation from insurance companies amounting to around 350,000 AMD.
After being detained, the individual admitted to the alleged criminal acts. A criminal case has been initiated at the Investigative Department of the NSS of the Republic under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic. An investigation is underway.
