Extraordinary Incident in Yerevan: Senior Investigator's Car Set on Fire

Today, on October 2, an extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 01:00, an unknown person or persons, for reasons and circumstances not yet clarified, intentionally set fire to a Volkswagen Golf belonging to Haik E, which was parked in the yard of building 22B Halabyan Street in the Ajapnyak administrative district. Additionally, a Hyundai Sonata, driven by Mher E, was also set ablaze; this car bore the license plate 77 NC 772 and was parked roughly 50 meters away in the yard of building 8 Margaryan Street.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, emergency rescue teams from the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the scene and extinguished the fires in the vehicles. The police's investigative department in the Mashtots district is preparing materials regarding the incident and is also determining the amount of damage caused.

As reported by G. Shamshyan, the driver of the Hyundai Sonata, Mher E, works as a senior investigator in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of the Investigative Committee of Yerevan.
