I Decided to Resign as Governor of Vayots Dzor Province: Tigran Sargsyan

Vayots Dzor Governor Tigran Sargsyan has announced his decision to resign from his powers after the conclusion of large-scale strategic exercises. He made this announcement on his Facebook page. The post is as follows:

“Dear residents of Vayots Dzor, citizens, friends,

Taking into account the unfortunate incident that occurred a few days ago in Yeghengadzor, I find it necessary to provide the following clarifications: As I have stated previously, I was at home during the incident; I have presented evidence to the investigative body that supports this fact. I am confident that an objective investigation will take place and the guilty will be punished.

However, once again denying any connection to this incident, and placing a greater emphasis on the establishment of political ethics and political responsibility in the new Armenia, I announce that I have decided to resign from my powers as the Governor of Vayots Dzor Province after the start of the large-scale strategic exercises today.

It has been a great honor for me to serve in the revolutionary team in my unique home province of Vayots Dzor, interacting and working every day with the proud, hardworking residents filled with love for life and faith in the future.

I would like to thank the Prime Minister of Armenia and my political team for the trust granted to me during this responsible period. I express my gratitude to the employees of the Vayots Dzor Provincial Administration for their dedicated and diligent service to the Republic of Armenia and Vayots Dzor Province. In this short period, we were able to implement important and viable community and regional projects together for Vayots Dzor.

I am confident that the work in Vayots Dzor will continue and the lives of its residents will improve day by day.

I serve and continue to serve the Republic of Armenia.
