It’s Pointless to Address Them: Response of Serzh Sargsyan's Office Head to Nikol Pashinyan
During a press conference held yesterday in Los Angeles, Nikol Pashinyan, while addressing former authorities, particularly the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, stated: "These people do not understand that they have no chance to engage in political activity in Armenia, not because I do not want them to, but because the Armenian people will not allow it. The Armenian people have interpreted the actions of the former authorities, particularly in 2018. They interpret them every day. I said that the Sargsyan family has been a professionally corrupt family. They all must return what they have stolen. Some have returned part of it; the other part must also be returned."
The head of Serzh Sargsyan's office, Mary Harutyunyan, commented on Pashinyan's statement at the request of 168.am. "What is there to comment on? Any word, whether about former presidents or metaphorically bending the clergy of the Armenian church, or about the honor of soldiers, based on personal and only his known perceptions, already indicates the mental state of the speaker. The person occupying the Prime Minister's chair has made contradictions and conflicting statements in the same tone, both before and during his tenure, which he has then tried to explain that in one case it was his personal opinion, and in another case, as an official, it is pointless to address them. In such a short period, regarding Amulsar, the four-day war being coordinated with Russia, the EAEU and CSTO opposing Armenia's interests, the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement with the EU being 'water,' publicly ranting against the US, expressing dissatisfaction with the support, and many other topics, there are hurried, unfounded, contradictory statements and then a denial of them as an example. This mental state is described quite aptly and realistically by a former team member who knows him much better and is already a former senior official these days. Patience to all of us," Mary Harutyunyan said in an interview with the site.
