Lus Foundation Refuses to Collaborate with Structure Led by Armen Grigoryan
The Lus Foundation has issued a press release, which was published on the Facebook page of Armen Ashotyan. We present it below.
Considering the announcement by the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia about the intention to collaborate with professional and expert circles in the development of the draft of the new security strategy document, as well as the desire to utilize its professional potential in the preparation of a document of great significance for the state, the Lus Foundation expressed its readiness to provide expert support for the development of the document and contacted the Secretary of the Security Council with a relevant letter.
On September 16 of this year, the head of the Security Council Office welcomed the readiness of the Lus Foundation to provide expert support for the document's development in a response letter addressed to the foundation and invited representatives of the Lus Foundation to discuss issues related to the strategy's formulation on September 24.
In contrast, on September 22, Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan made inappropriate and incorrect comments directed toward Serge Sargsyan, the third president of Armenia, co-founder of the Lus Foundation, and chairman of its board, which not only raises doubts about the competency of the Secretary of the Security Council but also makes collaboration with the structure he leads impossible.
In light of the current situation, the Lus Foundation announces that it will not participate in the meeting scheduled for September 24, while also expressing regret that the leadership of the work on one of the most important documents for the state's security has been entrusted to a person exhibiting behavior unworthy of a high-ranking official, who is not equipped to deal with the challenges facing the state.
