20 Million Dram, 95 Thousand Dollars and Not Only: The Assets of the Acting Director of the NSS
The acting Director of the National Security Service of Armenia, Eduard Martirosyan, submitted his asset and income declaration to the Ethics Commission for High-Ranking Officials before assuming the position (October 16, 2018).
According to the declaration, the acting NSS director owns 4 real estate properties: 1 land plot, 1 house, 1 apartment, and 1 garage. As for movable property, Martirosyan declared 2 vehicles: a "KIA SORENTO 2.4" and a "GAZ 24".
Upon taking office, Martirosyan had received loans amounting to $10,000.
The acting NSS director possesses gold jewelry exceeding 8 million dram in value or equivalent.
At the time of taking office, Martirosyan’s monetary means included 20 million dram, 95 thousand dollars, and 20 thousand euros. From January 1, 2018, until the day he assumed office, Martirosyan had an income of 4 million 501 thousand 399 dram, which was derived from his salary.
On March 21, 2019, Martirosyan submitted his annual declaration to the Ethics Commission, stating that his monetary assets had remained unchanged between the end and the beginning of the year.
In 2018, Martirosyan had a total income of 16 million 964 thousand 173 dram, of which 5 million 964 thousand 173 dram came from his salary, while 11 million dram was acquired from 2 received loans.
It should be noted that on September 16, Arthur Vanetsyan was dismissed from the position of NSS director, and by the decision of the Prime Minister and the decree of the President, Eduard Martirosyan was appointed as the acting director.
