Aram Sargsyan: Armenia Must Resist Lavrov's Plan and Needs US Support

Aram Sargsyan, the president of the Republic party, wrote on his Facebook page about the questions he would like Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to ask the US authorities:

“What would I want my country's Prime Minister to convey to the US authorities? Armenia is a sovereign and developing state, and with a focus on economic revolution and diversification of national security in its agenda, it proposes to discuss cooperation in areas such as non-ferrous metals and water resources, aviation, the construction of new jet engines, renewable energy, and the establishment of faculties of engineering, metallurgy, and cybernetics associated with American universities, complete with their experimental laboratories.

Moreover, the modernization of the Byurakan Observatory and the development and installation of new accelerators based on the physics institute's infrastructure... Armenia is ready to discuss options for purchasing American weapons—why can Turkey, as a NATO member, have Russian S-400s while Armenia, a member of the CSTO, cannot buy Patriots and drones from the US?

And we need to convey to the US that the Armenian side will definitely resist Lavrov's plan and needs US support. At least, to ensure that we are not hindered. And there are dozens of other issues that cannot be publicly raised but must be discussed to have specifics and move forward,” Sargsyan wrote.
