New Details: 115 Inmates Participated in the Riot at Nubarashen Prison
The newspaper "Joghavorud" reports that on September 5, disturbances began at the Nubarashen Prison. The reason was a government-initiated bill aimed at criminalizing the criminal subculture, leading inmates to stage a riot in support of the "zone lookouts."
A criminal case has been initiated at the Prosecutor's Office of Erebuni and Nubarashen Administrative Districts for mass disturbances, with preliminary data suggesting that around 115 detainees and convicts participated.
Furthermore, more details have emerged regarding the process of calming the incident reported in the "Joghavorud" newspaper. Specifically, according to rumors circulating in the facility, the leadership of the penitentiary service has decided to engage not only special services but also "thieves in law," whose involvement has helped stabilize the situation in prisons. However, the prison's press service denied this information.
