Arthur Vanetsyan: I'm Sitting Calmly with My Family, No Meetings with Gagik Tsarukyan
Arthur Vanetsyan, the former head of the National Security Service, described as absurd and shameful the reports claiming that he met with Gagik Tsarukyan, the president of the Prosperous Armenia Party.
Since his resignation, Vanetsyan has been relaxing with his family in Georgia.
Earlier today, media reports emerged stating that Vanetsyan and Tsarukyan had a meeting, which allegedly lasted several hours at Tsarukyan's residence. Following this, sources suggested that Vanetsyan would be joining the Prosperous Armenia Party soon.
“I’m sitting calmly with my family, and they write whatever they want, it’s a shame,” Vanetsyan said in an interview with the publication.
Below is an excerpt from the interview:
“- Nevertheless, was there any discussion between you and Gagik Tsarukyan about joining the Prosperous Armenia Party?”
“- There was absolutely none, and there never could be. I exclude the possibility of ever joining the Prosperous Armenia Party at any stage of my life and, in general, engaging with any political force.”
“- So, are you not planning to engage in politics, or do you only rule out membership in other parties?”
“- I am saying that I exclude joining any political force, and as for what I will be engaged in, I will make a decision on my own, which I will announce if necessary after my vacation.”
“I am currently relaxing in Georgia with my family.”
“- Mr. Vanetsyan, when will you talk about the specific reasons for your resignation?”
“- I will discuss the reasons if necessary, if they write too many myths about me, I might do it sooner; otherwise, I will continue my life peacefully.”
