SRC Prevents Import of Goods with Fake Documents from EEU Member States
The State Revenue Committee continues its vigilant oversight of the importation of goods from EEU member states accompanied by fake accounting documents. This was reported by the press service of the RA SRC.
The SRC’s Investigation and Operational Intelligence Department received operational information that discrepancies existed between various types of goods imported from the Russian Federation to Armenia in the name of individual entrepreneur K. E. and the accompanying documents.
Employees of the department's third division acted on this information and inspected the truck after it crossed the state border of Armenia. It turned out that instead of the 922 boxes of cosmetics indicated in the accompanying documentation, there were actually 1,542 boxes. In addition, the truck also contained 93 fur coats resembling natural fur without accompanying documents.
It was also revealed that the value of the goods listed in the invoice of 495,000 Russian rubles did not match reality, as the truck contained goods worth 5,870,000 Russian rubles, not including the value of the 93 fur coats. According to preliminary estimates, the state has suffered significant damage.
A criminal case has been initiated by the SRC's Investigation and Operational Intelligence Department regarding the apparent crime, and the mentioned goods have been seized. Measures are being taken to determine the exact amount of damage caused to the state.
The SRC’s Investigation and Operational Intelligence Department urges economic operators and individuals engaged in imports from EEU member states to accurately reflect the prices, quantities, and types of goods in their documents to avoid further tax scrutiny and stringent administrative procedures.
