I Have Requested the Prosecutor General to Initiate Criminal Proceedings Regarding the Privatization of the AOKS Building: Marukyan

Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the 'Enlightened Armenia' parliamentary faction, has announced on his Facebook page that two days ago he appealed to the Prosecutor General of Armenia regarding the initiation of a criminal case concerning the privatization of the AOKS building.

“Dear citizens, I would like to inform you that two days ago I addressed Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan regarding the following issue. On July 6 of this year, the Facebook page of ‘First Channel’ news outlet published a detailed video regarding alleged legal violations in the privatization process of the Armenian Company for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries (AOKS), and the illegal alterations of this building, which is considered a monument of national significance.

The analysis of the presented information indicates the presence of a chain of crimes and facts of their concealment. Based on the first part of Article 176 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia, I have requested the initiation of a criminal case regarding the facts presented in the video and to provide me with information on the progress and results of the case.”
