Returned from Russia: Body Found About 80 Meters from Car After Accident

On September 17, a tragic car accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. At approximately 00:05, 37-year-old Gevorg Hovhannisyan, a resident of Noratus village, lost control of his BMW X5 with license plate 51 QD 111 on the 33 km section of the Sevan-Martuni-Geghamavan highway. The vehicle crossed into the oncoming traffic lane, collided with rocks, rolled several times, and ended up overturned in the left-side median strip, as reported by shamshyan.com.

As a result of the collision, the driver was found about 80 meters away from the vehicle by locals and firefighters from the Gegharkunik regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and he died at the scene.

Photographers on the scene noted that two tires of the vehicle were damaged due to the impact, and the car had been completely turned into scrap metal. Eyewitnesses said that the deceased had recently returned to Armenia from the Russian Federation, was married, and had two children.
