18-Year-Old Stabs 12-Year-Old at a Festivity
On September 16, the Martuni police department received reports that a 12-year-old boy from the town of Gavar had been admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of "crushed wound to the lower third of the right thigh". The boy stated that he sustained the injury after falling at a festival in the village of Nerkhin Getashen.
However, information received by the Gegharkunik regional police indicated that the injury was not caused by a fall, but rather by an 18-year-old local resident who stabbed him at the festival.
On September 16, at around 2:00 PM, the 18-year-old was brought into the Martuni police department and admitted that he had accidentally stabbed the boy with a knife at the festival on September 15, around 1:00 PM.
Measures are being taken to locate the knife. Investigations are underway.
