Barcelona Vice President on Messi and Neymar
The vice president of Catalan club Barcelona, Jordi Cardoner, has spoken about the contract of team leader Lionel Messi and PSG forward Neymar Jr.
"We have included a special clause in Messi's contract, as he deserves it. We want Messi to stay with us for as long as possible. He can play at the club as long as he wishes.
Neymar was happy at Barcelona. That issue is already in the past. The Spanish league has started, and the club is no longer thinking about Neymar," Cardoner's words were reported by Marca.
Earlier, CNN Deportes reported that 32-year-old Messi is considering a move next summer to Argentine club Newell's Old Boys, where the Argentine began his football career.
Messi's contract includes a clause that allows him to leave Barcelona for free at the end of each season. Lionel Messi's contract with Barcelona is set to run until June 2021.
