Barcelona Player Sentenced to Imprisonment

Arda Turan, football player for Istanbul Başakşehir and the Turkish national team, whose transfer rights belong to Catalonian club Barcelona, has been sentenced to two years and eight months in prison. This was reported by the BBC.

According to the source, the player was convicted for illegal possession of firearms, discharging a weapon, and deliberate assault.

Last October, Turan was involved in a brawl at one of the nightclubs in Istanbul. The 32-year-old player allegedly assaulted the wife of renowned singer Berkay Şahin. This led to a confrontation with the singer, during which Turan broke his opponent's nose.
