Live: Amulsar Will Remain a Mountain. March in Yerevan
In Yerevan, a march for the protection of Amulsar is starting from in front of the National Assembly. Today's route will be: NA public park, Baghramyan, Mashtots, Amiryan, Republic Square.
The Armenian Environmental Front (AEF) posted an announcement about the march on its Facebook page. The AEF reinforced its commitment to the protection of Amulsar and stated that all efforts will be made in this direction.
"We declare that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, with this decision that ignores existing and repeatedly presented expert and legal grounds, is implementing the patronage of a private company at the highest level, allowing the realization of a project with numerous violations and shortcomings, which is a blatant fact of the abuse of public trust and official powers," stated the initiative's announcement.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had asked the residents of Jermuk to unblock the roads leading to the Amulsar mine in his live broadcast on Facebook. He mentioned that even if the roads to Amulsar were opened now, construction works would not commence until April 2020.
