Shooting on Northern Avenue: Gunfire at Chronograph Armenia Watch Store Door

On September 7, police officers Karen Zakaryan and Paylak Tevanyan from the 2nd platoon of the 3rd special battalion of the police in Yerevan were on duty when they received operational information about gunfire on Northern Avenue. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, police quickly apprehended a 23-year-old Samvel M. from Kotayk Province, who was found to be armed.

It was revealed that Samvel M. fired his weapon at the glass door of the Chronograph Armenia luxury watch store, which belongs to Gagik Khachatryan, the former head of the State Revenue Committee and former Minister of Finance, who is currently under suspicion of large-scale embezzlement.

The investigative department of the central police station is preparing materials regarding the incident. Samvel M. has been released on a signature.
