Police Investigating Incident of Dragging 6-Year-Old Girl on Ground

According to SHAMSHYAN.com, an extraordinary incident occurred on September 4 at one of the schools in Yerevan. A security guard at Agasi Khanjyan Secondary School, located on Tigran Metz Avenue in the Erebuni administrative district, grabbed the hand of a 6-year-old girl, E. Ts., from the 'Ayb Ben GYM' development center operating at the same address, dragged her to the ground with the intent to remove her from the premises, resulting in physical injuries to the child.

Director Armine Davtyan reported that the 6-year-old girl involved in the incident has autism. 'That child is a student at our center, and every day her mother takes the child to the yard of School No. 53 for a walk. The girl has autism, and as a female, she can often bite or lie on the ground if she doesn’t get to where she wants to go. According to my information, the school director asked her to leave the yard to close the door (it was around 5:00 PM), while her mother ran after the child's backpack, the guard grabbed the child,' she said.

Armine Davtyan also indicated that the child's mother has health issues as well. The information department of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports stated that the ministry condemns any instances of violence against children; however, regarding the specifics of this incident, the police are currently in the process of determining what exactly happened. The police's information service also noted that an investigation is underway regarding this incident, and no further details can be provided at this time.
