Man Charged in Murder of Young Woman Detained: Details
The Yerevan General Jurisdiction Court Judge Anna Matevosyan granted the investigator's motion yesterday, September 5, and ordered the detention of 34-year-old M. Sarkisyan, a citizen of Georgia with Armenian ethnicity, who is suspected of murdering a 28-year-old woman in one of the apartments on Bryusov Street in Yerevan.
The man has been charged under Article 104, Part 1, and Article 177, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code for unlawfully and intentionally depriving another of life and for secretly appropriating a significant amount of someone else's property.
Earlier, it was reported that on September 2, at 12:00 PM, the police received a call from a resident of Yerevan about a woman's corpse found in one of the apartments on Bryusov Street, showing signs of violence and injuries.
A criminal case was initiated based on Article 104, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code.
A 34-year-old citizen of Georgia was arrested on suspicion of committing the alleged crime. During a personal search, the victim's mobile phone and bank cards were found in his possession.
