Armenian Air Defenses in Action at 'Combat Companion 2019' Exercises
On September 5, the joint military exercises of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) air defense forces, titled 'Combat Companion 2019', concluded at the 'Ashuluk' training ground in Russia.
To observe the decisive phase, representatives visited the training site, including Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Lieutenant General Stepan Galstyan, and Commander of the Air Defense Forces, Major General Armen Vardanyan, along with high-ranking officials from participating CIS countries.
During the exercises, military fighter jets first appeared in the sky, followed by the air defense systems coming into action. The live-fire phase included S-300, S-400, and other advanced air defense systems, as well as MiG and Su class attack and bomber aircraft. The air defense and aviation units successfully executed their assigned tasks.
The Armenian Armed Forces' air defense personnel using the S-300 systems successfully engaged both assigned and allied states' conditional targets, achieving excellent results.
