Shooting Incident in Arshaluyse Village: The Arrested Individual is the Son of Manvel Grigoryan

An extraordinary incident took place in the Armavir region yesterday, on September 4. According to Shamshyan.com, at around 1:30 PM, the Armavir police department and the Vagharshapat police received operational information that gunshots had been heard in the administrative area of Arshaluyse village along the Armavir-Yerevan highway.

Police established that the received operational information was credible, and a dispute had occurred at the beginning of Arshaluyse village between 30-year-old Koryun K. from the Ararat region and 26-year-old Ara G. from Ejmiadzin over a failure to yield on the road. During the argument, Ara G. pointed a firearm at Koryun K. and fired shots.

Koryun K. confessed that Ara G. tried to shoot at him twice from his Hyundai vehicle with license plates 01 AA 045, hitting once, but he managed to dodge the bullet, resulting in no injuries. After firing the shot, the driver of the Hyundai left the scene without a word.

Hours later, Armavir police officers located Ara G. and his vehicle. Ara G. was taken to the Vagharshapat police division, where he presented a “Kimar” type gas pistol and claimed ownership. The senior investigator of the Vagharshapat police department, Paylak Shmavonyan, is preparing materials regarding the incident. Ara G. was released with a signature.

According to photojournalist information, Ara G. is the son of General-Major Manvel Grigoryan, who is currently in custody. Reports also indicate that a complex-lock knife was found in his possession.
