Deputy Foreign Minister on Putin's Visit to Armenia

On October 1, the decision to hold a meeting of the EAEU in Yerevan was made by consensus among the leaders of all member countries, including the leader of Russia. This was stated today, September 6, by Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly, addressing the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Armenia.

In response to the comment that according to media reports, his participation has not yet been confirmed, the Deputy Foreign Minister replied, “They themselves have decided to hold this; this is not the case where he is just a guest. Another matter is that he is also invited to that Supreme Council meeting, where there will also be a conference to which the leaders of other countries are invited. This includes the leader of Moldova, which is the only country with observer status, as well as the President of Iran. The issue is that we recently received a notification from Iran stating that they have completed all ratification processes, which means that the EAEU-Iran free trade agreement is starting to take effect. The Prime Minister of Singapore is also invited. All invited guests, including the leaders of EAEU member states, will, of course, participate in this important conference,” said Shavarsh Kocharyan.
