Certificates Issued to 15 Families in Getq, Hatzik, and Akhuryan Communities of Shirak Province
The homeless families of rural communities in Shirak Province have received certificates for purchasing housing. For the first time since 2016, the Armenian government is allocating certificates for housing purchases to families in rural communities of Shirak Province that lost their homes.
On September 5, within the framework of the program, the governor of Shirak Province, Tigran Petrosyan, handed over certificates to 15 families in the Getq, Hatzik, and Akhuryan communities.
According to the resident's wish, one family was provided with funding for the completion of a partially constructed building by the decision of the Armenian government. This year, the certificates are granted only to these families, while next year, the other 140 families from rural communities who lost their homes due to the earthquake in the province will also receive assistance. This was stated by the governor of Shirak Province, Tigran Petrosyan, during the meeting.
“The state will fulfill its obligation towards rural communities next year. This year, the issue of homelessness will be resolved in three communities at once. We hope that the families who received the certificates during this period will succeed in purchasing a home, and the issue of having their own roof will be resolved,” emphasized Tigran Petrosyan.
The certificates are issued based on the market value of the lost housing and the corresponding housing in the region. Families have the opportunity to purchase a home anywhere in the Republic. The deadline for the implementation of the certificates is set for December 20. The obtained housing must meet the required norms — it should be earthquake-resistant and have utility services.
