Azerbaijan's State Airline Supplied Weapons to the Islamic State

Azerbaijan's state airline has supplied weapons to the Islamic State, according to a new investigation by Bulgarian journalist Dilana Gaytanjieva. She has obtained documents showing how weapons produced in Serbia are purchased by the U.S. and then delivered to ISIS militants in Yemen.

The reports come from infoteka24.ru. Images presented include 82mm mortar rifles from the Serbian armaments factory "Krusik" as well as mortars from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

While U.S. President Donald Trump boasts about the successful elimination of Islamic State militants in Syria, weapons acquired by the U.S. government end up in the hands of terrorists belonging to the Islamic State in Yemen.

The journalist reports that these high-profile documents were obtained from an anonymous source containing email addresses, internal records, contracts, photographs, delivery timelines, and listings for weapons and their respective customer numbers.

Among these documents are also scanned passports of arms dealers and public officials from the United States, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. Over the past three years, they have delivered at least 3 million units of Serbian weapons (mortars and missiles) to Yemen and Syria.

The Bulgarian journalist claims these documents confirm the biggest lie in U.S. foreign policy: that they are officially fighting terrorism while secretly supporting it.

Notably, the weapons transfers also involve Silk Way Airlines, a state-owned company in Azerbaijan that has been tasked by the U.S. government to transport arms from Serbia and Bulgaria. Diplomatic documents provided to the journalist prove that Silk Way Airlines has carried out 350 diplomatic flights for terrorists in Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, and Africa.

The flights have been regulated by the Pentagon, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. The weapons have been smuggled to Baku, "Incirlik Air Base, Prince Sultan Air Base, and more, where the aircraft made technical landings, after which they were continued to be unloaded until their final destination.

The document leak indicates that this international arms supply network has never ceased its operations and continues to exist to this day.
