Tsolakyan Gifts Cars to Two Employees Injured in Accident Due to Fatigue

After several days of grueling work at the scene, some of the team members became so exhausted that they had an accident on their way home, but returned to the scene the very next day.

Today marks the day of the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, perhaps the most humanitarian force in the world.

This was announced by Minister of Emergency Situations Felix Tsolakyan on his Facebook page, congratulating the staff of his organization on their professional holiday.

Tsolakyan noted that from October 1, the salaries of rescuers will be increased. Additionally, the government has recently allocated more than 260 million drams from the state budget for the acquisition of rescue equipment and almost 1 billion drams for the renovation of fire and rescue units.

The minister remarked that this year has been unprecedented globally in terms of emergencies, especially fires. The number and scale of fires in Armenia have been so significant that even the central apparatus of the rescue service was involved in firefighting efforts.

"It may sound funny, but we couldn't even find a rescuer to participate in the rehearsals for today's solemn parade. Everyone was engaged in firefighting," the minister wrote, noting that the rescuers, especially those on the front lines, performed their duties honorably, putting their lives at immediate risk.

After several days of hard work at the scene, some of the boys became so exhausted that they had an accident on their way home, but they hurried back to the site the next day.

"What is this, if not heroism?" Minister Tsolakyan remarked while congratulating all employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations on their professional holiday, stating that he had decided to reward two employees with cars.

"Some of the rescuers were involved in accidents on their way home due to fatigue and overwork, two of whom, Lieutenant Colonel Garegin Hakobyan and Senior Sergeant Andranik Ghazaryan, had their cars nearly turned into scrap metal. I don't know if I have the right to do this or not, but I have made an exceptional decision to reward the guys with similar cars on behalf of the entire staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Conscience and peace to us all…" concluded the congratulatory message from the Minister of Emergency Situations of Armenia, Felix Tsolakyan.
