Thales Group Delegation Arrives in Armenia at the Invitation of Armen Sarkissian

A delegation from the company has arrived in Armenia at the invitation of President Armen Sarkissian.

This information was reported by the Public Relations Department of the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia. During this visit, the company’s Vice President for Strategy and Partnerships, Philippe Valéry, Vice President for Sales and Marketing, Jérôme Sion, Director of Business Development, Aleksandr Godlevski, and Vice President and Regional Director, Paul Remy, are in our country.

The foundations of cooperation with this leading French and European technology company were laid back in September 2018, when President Armen Sarkissian met with the company’s management during his visit to France. In November 2018, he visited the company’s digital factory to learn about its activities and ongoing projects and discuss possible cooperation with Armenian companies.

As a result of agreements reached with the President, the high-level delegation of the company participated in the Armenian Ideas Summit held in Dilijan in June this year. In June 2019, President Sarkissian also visited the Thales Group booth at the Paris International Air Show in Le Bourget and met with the company’s President, Patrice Caine. It was here that arrangements were made to organize the visit of Thales Group representatives to Armenia, as well as to create working groups to review the relevant documentation prepared on specific areas of cooperation.

Particularly promising areas of collaboration include artificial intelligence, digital data management, and several other fields.

During their visit to Armenia, the Thales Group delegation will meet with Minister of High Technology Industry Hakob Arshakyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Arayik Harutyunyan, visit leading technology companies, including Synopsys Armenia, BetConstruct, and the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, and meet with representatives of Armenian startups to explore the experiences and achievements recorded by Armenia in the high technology sector.

Thales Group operates in various countries around the world and is engaged in the design and construction of electrical systems, providing services in the aerospace, defense, transportation, and security markets.
