Johnson Loses Majority in House of Commons

British Prime Minister and leader of the Conservatives Boris Johnson has lost his majority in the House of Commons after MP Philip Lee announced his departure from the Conservative Party. This is reported by Bloomberg.

During the session, Lee crossed over to the ranks of the Liberal Democrats. This means that the government will now operate as a minority cabinet in Great Britain.

In his statement, Lee indicated that the Conservative government is pursuing the idea of a 'hard' Brexit, which unjustifiably threatens the lives and livelihoods of people and the integrity of the country. Furthermore, it disrupts the economy, democracy, and the country’s role in the world.

Earlier, Boris Johnson stated that in the case of a 'hard' Brexit, London would pay Brussels only £9 billion. It should be noted that the initial amount due was £30 billion.
