26 Fires Erupt in Grassland Areas: Data Presented by the Ministry of Emergency Situations
On September 1, the Crisis Management National Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received 19 reports about fires that broke out in various grassland areas across the republic, affecting approximately 200 square meters and more.
Specifically, in the Davtashen administrative district of Yerevan, a fire engulfed 250 square meters; in the Ajapnyak administrative district, 5,000 square meters; in the Shengavit administrative district, 200 square meters; and in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district, 700 square meters. In Masis city of Ararat province, 700 square meters caught fire, along with 250 square meters in Ararat city, and 7 hectares in the village of Hovtashen. Ranchpar village reported a 400 square meter fire.
In the Armavir province, 1 hectare of grassland and 600 square meters of a vineyard were affected in the village of Lusaghbyur; in the village of Aratashen, 1,000 square meters were burned. In Kotayk province, 2 hectares in Yeghvard city, 5,000 square meters in Abovyan city, 300 square meters in Nor Yerznka village, 6 hectares in Dzoraghbyur village, and 25 hectares along the Lusakert-Karashen road were impacted. In Vayots Dzor province, 1 hectare and 3,000 square meters in the city of Yeghegnadzor were affected, while 2 hectares in Maralik city of Shirak province also caught fire, and 300 square meters along the Yerevan-Sevan highway were reported as burned.
The firefighters successfully isolated and extinguished the fires.
