2 Dead, 19 Injured: Emergency Services Provide Details on Major Accident in Georgia
On August 31, at 08:44, the operational duty officer of the Emergency Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia received information that around 03:10 a major road accident occurred at the 4th km of the Gugut’i-Marneuli highway, involving a collision between a "Mercedes Sprinter" and a "Ford Transit." According to preliminary data, there are 2 fatalities and 19 wounded.
It has been confirmed that the deceased are 2 individuals (Greta A., born in 1966, and Marta S., born in 1991), and among the injured, 16 are citizens of Armenia. Of the injured Armenian citizens, 7 (Lena M., Gayane B., Tatevik G., Laura Kh., Hasmik A., Anush M., and Meri M.) have been hospitalized at the “New Hospital” in Tbilisi, 3 (Anna A., Vardan H., and Azat A.) at the “Pineo” medical center, another 3 (Lilia Kh., Zaven Kh., and Laura S.) at the “Patriarchs” medical center, and 3 more (David K., Karen K., and Garnik G.) at the “Aramyan” medical center.
Among the injured, Lena M., Gayane B., Tatevik G., and Anna A. are currently at the “New Hospital” and “Pineo” medical centers in Tbilisi. The condition of Gayane B. and Tatevik G. has been assessed as critical, while Anna A. and Lena M. are in serious condition. The rest have received appropriate medical assistance and have been discharged.
A representative from the Armenian Ministry of Health reported that 4 ambulances (rehabilitation vehicles) have been dispatched to Tbilisi. On September 1, at 08:38, Lena M. was transferred to “Erebuni” Medical Center in Yerevan, and Anna A. to “Surp Grigor Lusavorich” Medical Center. Their medical conditions have been assessed as critically stable.
