Body of a Child Found in Gyumri City Dump

A body of a child has been discovered in the city dump of Gyumri. This was reported by a correspondent from SHANTNEWS.am.

The deceased child was found by a man collecting polyethylene bottles at the landfill. He reported that after a garbage truck emptied waste collected from the city neighborhoods, he approached to separate useful items and found the dead child.

Following his alert, an operational investigative team arrived at the scene. After investigative actions and examinations, it was determined that the deceased is a girl approximately one and a half years old.

A criminal case has been initiated, within which a forensic examination will determine whether the child was alive when placed in the garbage or died after being brought there. The Shirak regional prosecutor informed the correspondent of SHANTNEWS.am that efforts are underway to identify the child. Karen Gabrielyan also noted that there have been no reports to the police regarding the disappearance of a child of this age in recent weeks.

It is also noteworthy that around that time, the truck was transporting garbage collected from the 8th military and Seversky neighborhoods to the city dump.
