Update: 46 Participants from Gyumri Restaurant Wedding Sought Medical Help
As of today, 7:50 AM, a total of 46 individuals (9 of whom are under 18) have been hospitalized following an event organized at a restaurant in Gyumri. Of those hospitalized, 43 have been discharged after receiving treatment, while 3 patients remain hospitalized. No new patients have sought medical attention. The situation is currently manageable. This information was shared by Alina Nikoghosyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, on her Facebook page.
Earlier, Nikoghosyan reported that 30 individuals who participated in a wedding at the "Dvin" restaurant in Gyumri had been hospitalized. "On August 30th, around 10:00 PM, the Ministry of Health received reports that three residents of Gyumri in Shirak Province were hospitalized due to vomiting and acute stomach pain. It was quickly determined by specialists from the Ministry that all of them had attended a wedding at the "Dvin" restaurant in Gyumri. Specialists from the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health are currently conducting work at the Gyumri Infectious Anti-Tuberculosis Hospital (collecting samples from the patients for laboratory tests) and are collaborating with the Food Safety Inspection Agency (sampling food products and the surrounding environment). Preliminary hypotheses suggest that food factors are responsible for the patients' hospitalization. As of now, 30 patients have been hospitalized, with their conditions assessed as mild to moderate. Work is ongoing," stated Alina Nikoghosyan.
